Rage mutated him... Revenge transformed him... He is... The Bullet Man! This obviously won't appeal to everyone, but it's worth watching because of how insane it looks. CHUD debuted the US trailer for Tetsuo: The Bullet Man, but it was Quicktime so we embedded it below. The film features a soundtrack by NIN's Trent Reznor and I think you can hear some of it in this. It's the third film from Shinya Tsukamoto's cult sci-fi series that started with Tetsuo: The Iron Man in 1989, but it's the first English film in the series and boy does it look totally nuts. The Bullet Man in this one is played by Eric Bossick. Watch at your own risk!
The series has been described as a "cyberpunk nightmare" with hints of David Lynch and Cronenberg. After his son is killed by a hit and run, Anthony loses control of his body. Little by little, his cells turn into iron.
Tetsuo: The Bullet Man is both co-written and directed by cult Japanese filmmaker Shinya Tsukamoto, who started this with Tetsuo: The Iron Man then Tetsuo II: Body Hammer, and directed Bullet Ballet, A Snake of June and Nightmare Detective 1 & 2. It was co-written by Tsukamoto and Hisakatsu Kuroki (Nightmare Detective 2). This premiered at the Venice Film Festival and also played Sitges, San Sebastián and Tribeca. IFC Midnight is opening Tetsuo: The Bullet Man in limited theaters starting on January 21st this month.
