Robert Pattinson Heading to 'Cosmopolis' Instead of Colin Farrell

Though Colin Farrell's name was front and center on some promo art we featured for Cosmopolis, it looks like we'll never see that happen. Deadline is reporting that The Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson will now join Marion Cotillard and Paul Giamatti in David Cronenberg's adaptation of of Don DeLillo's novel of the same name as a multi-millionaire asset manager who crosses the whole of Manhattan in a stretch limo just for a haircut. However, the guy can't get a break as he's repeatedly delayed by a presidential motorcade, anti-globalization demonstrations, and a celebrity funeral. Yeah, that would probably piss me off, too.

Stuck in his limo, the financial wunderkind must also deal with the potentially deadly repercussions of a risky bet against the yen on a bad day for the market. While I'm sure plenty of people will rag on Pattinson and The Twilight Saga, I'm willing to give the young actor credit for taking roles that challenge him as an actor. Remember Me probably isn't the greatest example, but Pattinson also stars in Francis Lawrence's adaptation of Water for Elephants which gets released later this year. There's a good chance Pattinson has enough talent to escape the girly hype around his role in The Twilight Saga, and I'm willing to see what the kid can do. How about you?
